DEADLINE: Digital Humanities Graduate Conference at U of Alberta

The Call for Proposals for DiHuCon, the annual Digital Humanities graduate conference at the University of Alberta, is now open! The theme for DiHuCon 2023 is Sustainability and the Digital, with a 1-day hybrid conference on March 13, 2023. As ‘sustainability’ is increasingly transformed into a corporate buzzword, scholars of the digital are increasingly called to question what meaning and import ‘sustainability’ has for their work. Our conference examines the many intersections of sustainability and the digital, be it the sustainability found in digital archiving practices, sustainable practices for digital production and material cultures worldwide, sustainability in academic practices, what sustainability means in decolonial movements, or the possible sustainable futures proposed by science fiction.

We invite proposals for lightning talks, presentations, workshops, posters, and panels that engage with questions of sustainability and the digital, however you see the intersections of these concepts. We invite work from early-career academics, graduate students or upper-level undergrads in any discipline whose work intersects with our theme! The deadline to submit a proposal is February 17. Proposals can be submitted here: https://forms.gle/a3xcJReQBLY5obRx8, and questions can be sent to the DHSA at dhsa@ualberta.ca.
