UVA Research Data Services: Intro to Qualitative Analysis Using NVivo
NVivo is a Qualitative Data Analysis (QDA) application that facilitates the organization, coding, and interpretation of media, whether textual, video, audio, or image. In this workshop we will cover the basics of using NVivo to code and analyze such documents and examine how NVivo’s functionality allows you to surface relationships and insights that may be inchoate in your coding. Along the way we will discuss some of the fundamentals of analyzing qualitative data. We will also briefly discuss and explore NVivo’s potential for mixed methods analysis, i.e. using NVivo to integrate qualitative and quantitative data into one project.
No prerequisites, but you may get more out of the workshop if you have a copy of the software and can follow along.
