Workshop: Introduction to Git/Github

This workshop introduces version control using git through both GitHub and GitLab, free and open source platforms for building projects collaboratively. We’ll learn the basics of git repositories and commits including how to fork a repository on GitHub/GitLab to your account, clone the repository to your local machine, and point it to the source repository. And we’ll practice GitHub/GitLab workflows like fetching and merging changes from the source, making changes and commits locally, pushing to GitHub/GitLab, and making pull requests. Git and GitHub are available to everyone. No prior knowledge is needed for this workshop, but please bring a laptop to participate
