Yao Jiang

I am a second-year UVa master student in the Architectural History Program with Historic Preservation Certificate. My current research explores the reinterpretation and reintroduction of the Chinese garden into modern discourse as a critical instrument to understand the modernization process of China in the past century.

Christine Ruotolo

As Director of Arts and Humanities in the University of Virginia Library, I lead a team of ten subject liaisons in the arts and humanities, ensuring that library services and collections meet the evolving needs of these disciplines. I provide leadership and vision for the library’s liaison services, with a focus on outreach, engagement, and research support. I am currently the subject liaison for Philosophy and for the American Studies program.

Abigail Bradford

Abigail Bradford is a fourth-year PhD candidate in the Program in Mediterranean Art and Archaeology studying under Dr. Tyler Jo Smith.  Her research focuses on ancient Greek music and vase painting, and she is particularly interested in the innovation of “New Music” in 5th c.

Prof. S. Max Edelson

S. Max Edelson studies the history of colonial British America and the Atlantic world. He is also a digital humanist interested in historical geospatial visualization. His research examines space, place, and culture in colonial North America and the Caribbean.

Fiona Balestrieri

I'm PhD student in Anthropology interested in the applications of Digital Humanities to documentation and revitalization of endangered languages.  I'm also interested in creating a digital platform to make archival audio recordings from central Virginia more accessible to the public.
